Cormac O'Connor

Cormac O'Connor is a composer, producer, musician, sound designer and sound engineer. He joined his first band, called 'Above The Maple' at 17, and since 1985 he has been in several bands, including Bennys Head, The Shed, The Naildrivers and The Soulmasters.

Since developing an early interest in music technology he has devoted his time to creating music and has won awards for his sound design for theatre in Ireland and Britain. He consolidated his experience with lengthy stints as a live sound engineer in the Cork Opera House, The Triskel Arts Centre and The Everyman Palace Theatre Cork.

From 2001 to 2005 he ran a recording studio on a wide-beam narrow boat, the Saucy Sue, on the river Cam in Cambridge. Since returning to Cork he has specialised in production and arrangement and has built up an enviable library of cutting-edge sounds and music creation software. More recently Cormac has been exploring video design and has developed a small enterprise editing corporate videos and promos.
